NaNoWriMo Blurb

The trick to getting your heart’s desire is to be able to force your heart to resist desiring what it can not ever hope to obtain.

For Simone DuPont that's rapidly becoming an impossible proposition. On her hand she wears an engagement ring from Thomas. Yet, her heart never relinquished it’s craving for a different man. To purge her soul she writes a novel about her love for Nikolas but when he reads her words he can’t stay away.

With one look Nikolas may ruin her plans to marry Thomas unless Simone can manage to curve her lips into the hardest word of all to say when looking in the face of the one you desire: No.

This really is tough, isn't it?! I have been in physical pain several times, trying to push myself through. I'm still behind target (though my target is 2k a day, which gives me a bit of a cushion. I've hit my 20k at last thank god).

Your writing reads really well btw! Mine is so turgid in comparison. Dialogue is a struggle, and don't even get me started on "character development"... ;)

    Kelley,

Thanks! I am behind where I need to be word count wise but I think of it was down but not out. I will keep writing and hope for the best.

    Susan,

Oddly, as romantic as I am I think I have a hard time writing romance. But you know that saying "Write the story of your heart"? Well Nikolas and Simone is that for me. That's why I choose it for NaNoWriMo because it's writing my fantasy come to life.

Anyway, I hope you like the short excerpt.

    Secretdubai,

Thanks for stopping by and complimenting my work.

Yes, I totally agree that NaNoWriMo is terribly tough. But it is the good kind of hard, the kind that makes you crazy but you love going crazy. Or is that just me?

    LOL.

Well, it is nice to meet you. I hope you stop back again.

    Hi
You posted a note on my blog about writing about overweight characters. I did NaNoWriMo too, the last 2 years (even won this year). It's a small world, isn't it?
If you liked the challenge of NaNoWriMo you should join a BIAW group--you write a book in 7 days. The one I was in every 6th week was a BIAW, the rest were for research. It was a cycle you could do as many times as you wanted. It's great.
    http://itsafatlife.blogspot.com is me.
Good luck with your writing career!
    Rosie

I just got to read your first page. This whole NaNoWriMo things like a heck of a great challenge!

From what I read, I liked your 9th, 12th, 13th (even with the little punctuation hiccup)and 17th paragraphs best. They flow well.

The 17th is especially good, in my opinion. Tragic, ironic, a nice hook for the next part.

    Good job!
